Good things come to those who wait

We had a meeting last week at work and they told us that we are finally going to be given permanent jobs. For 5 years now I've been working on contract for them. Of course this is not in writing yet, and of course it still needs to be approved by the Council, and of course if the motion gets approved it'll mean 6 other people will lose their jobs, and of course we will have to operate next year without an operational budget, so outsourcing is out of the question, which means we will run the department with about 10-12 less people in total next year, and of course we will have to still deliver the same level of services... but HEY! on the bright side we'll at least all have permanent jobs, right? The up side of the permanency is that we will have more than twice the amount of vacation leave we have now... which is a good thing considering we'll have to take almost all of that to friggin keep ourselves sane!!!

I love my job.

HAPPY BLADDY SPRINGDAY!

Yeah, yeah, Happy Spring Day to y'all for yesterday.

And to the COW in the white VW Fox driving along Settler's Way at 9:15pm last night who doesn't understand the term express in "express lane" on a freeway, let me make it clear: 60KM/H IS NOT EXPRESS!

Now go smell a bladdy daisy.

Happy Spring Day damnit.
