News of the week

So a lot has happened recently and with me being down and out with the flu I haven't quite been able to find the time or energy to summarize the low down. So, here is a short point-format summary of what's been happening in my life and the greater South Africa.

  • A Deputy President got fired.

So yeah, Mr Zuma got implicated in a corruption charge and found himself without a job. This is the first time I'm told that a deputy president of any government around the world was told to step down. BAM! South Africa makes history again!

  • A Deputy President got hired.

And this also becomes the first time in South Africa a woman is appointed as deputy of the country. The second most powerful person in the country is a woman! Lovely.

  • I've been off work for 3 days with the flu.

Its that time of year again folks! Flu season is upon us and, as usual, it didn't pass me by. It would be great if it could ya know... Just once leave me alone. On this note, my ever so wonderful doctor informs me that a patient has already died from this flu, and while I'm sitting there listening to him, I'm thinking... 'Dude, that's the kinda stuff right there you don't wanna be telling your patients with flu.'

  • I have 24/7 wireless internet access!

This is so awesome I should have made this an update of its own, but yup, I am 24/7 online, right up there with all my American and Canadian buddies! Its really an excellent option offered by Aerosat, and its not nearly as expensive as it would seem! Its completely independent from the local phone company, which by the way is the devil, and there's really no hidden costs.

And lastly for all you OC lovers out there, here's a few things I've heard through the grapevine about season 3. If you don't wanna know, don't read any further...

  1. Trey is not dead.
  2. A casting call has gone out for 2 new actors to be added to the cast. A 20 year old guy who works at the Harbor school, and who singles out Seth, Summer and Marissa as trouble makers; and a girl who rivals Summer in everything, from school co-chair to boys.
  3. So far the suggested starting date for Season 3 is in September sometime.

So that's it from me... Over and out.

Um... Ur... Yah... Ok...

So... Sorry, I have nothing.

Yup, its a real-life, eat, breathing, sleeping, crapping mut - a big one at that.

The scene is set: 7:40am, I'm leaving my apartment for work, and as I reach the landing, there in the parking lot... All I can say is someone needs to paint that wall in the background! Oh, and there was this dog sitting upright in this lil car.

Celebrity Sighting

Danny Jordaan, the man who made soccer world cup 2010 possible for South Africa was spotted by me at the PE Airport yesterday! I was seeing a friend off, and in the check-in queue, standing right behind us was none other than Mr Jordaan himself. He was crapping someone out on his cellphone, but the first thought that was going through my mind was, 'Why is he flying Nationwide?' Ew. You'd think a man with so much money and such status would fly something, well, better.

Anyway, thats the sum of whats been interesting to me lately.

OH DON'T DRINK THE WATER! THERE'S SOMETHING IN IT, COZ EVERYONE IS GETTING PREGNANT!!
